Wasted Space in Packaging

Glass is used for many things, one of the most common being windows. We see a problem in the way that a slab of glass (for a window) is packaged to be shipped, so we created a new packaging system. In the original box, the glass was placed in a package much too big for its size, with packing peanuts used as protection. This is inefficient because using such a large box is a waste of cardboard, and packing peanuts don't offer much protection. They allow the glass to move around more freely, giving it more of a chance to aquire cracks or break while being shipped. Our box, however, uses bubble wrap to protect the glass in place of packing peanuts. This is more efficient because it wraps fully around the glass, making it much more difficult to break. Also, our box it tighter fitting around the product, which prevents excess movement and adds extra protection in addition to the bubble wrap.
